Current Position
Research Interests
My research concerns middleware and distributed software systems in dynamic (computing) environments. My work covers areas such as Big Data, Internet of Things (IoT), Cloud computing, Fog computing, Ubiquitous computing, and also Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) environments.
My work represents the synthesis of an interdisciplinary research that creates software systems endowed with smart ideas and technologies brought about from various disciplines (such as data classification, graph theory, combinatorial optimization, semantic web, erasure coding, etc.).
Previous Achievements:
-
Prostor: A location-aware distributed dataflow computation system that it is based on Apache Storm. Prostor makes it easy to process unbounded streams of IoT data, while deploying computations on specific locations (instead of the dynamic scheduling strategies inherently supported by Apache Storm).
-
Publication: Computational Storage for the Internet of Things: State of the Art, Research Challenges, and enablers
Submitted to A Special Issue of Elsevier Journal of Network and Computer Applications on "Advances on Industrial Internet of Things"
